WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF THIS WEB SITE ?
I want to use this site to encourage people that have little or no confidence in themselves to have a re-think, and prove to them that what they think they are capable of, is a lot more that they give themselves credit for.
With this site I hope to influence other people that have used education to further themselves in life and work, to post their stories and prove to the self doubters that we can move on.
If you do decide to take this route, rest assured this is not an easy journey that you are about to undertake. But do not let that last statement be the first excuse for you not to read on any further. The help that is available from whatever learning establishment that you decide to choose from, the guidance is always forthcoming, the tutors and staff are all eager to see you do well and they are dedicated to the career that they have chosen, so see these people as guides on your travels.
A lot of new students think they are going back to school, or they are putting themselves in an environment which is only going to see them make fools of themselves. Nothing is further from the truth, Adult education is far more relaxed, and many a time you have a good laugh and make new friends, which helps to increase your social life. At the same time you are there for a serious reason, that is to learn. Many people in these classes are starting from different levels and all need different levels of help. As one student was reported having said: !*"I had the worst study habits in the history of college, till I found out what I was doing wrong -highlighting with a black magic marker"
